I have an Outlook.com account and on the Outlook.com website, I’ve used the “Clean up contacts” feature in the People section to get rid of my duplicate contacts.

This worked great as I now no longer have any duplicates in Outlook.com. However, in Outlook itself, I still see my duplicates.

I’ve already pressed the Send/Receive button and restarted Outlook for good measure to make sure everything synced up but the duplicates are still there.

Why are my duplicate contacts still there in Outlook and more importantly;
How do I get rid of these duplicates in Outlook itself?

I’ve been using Outlook 2013 since it came out and I’m still quite happy with it.

I know that since then Outlook 2016 has come out and Outlook 2021 is the latest version that is available. Then there is also Microsoft 365 which apparently is always the latest version of Office.

With so many newer versions of Outlook, is Microsoft still committed to support my Outlook 2013 version or is it time for me to move on?

When clicking on a mailto link, Outlook used to get opened and I could write my email. Now, when I click on a mailto link, it brings up the Gmail webpage while I don't even have a Gmail account.

I’ve configured my Outlook.com account with multiple aliases. When I use the web based version of Outlook.com, I can successfully send out an email with one of my alias addresses.

I know many people start Outlook as the first application directly after they start their computer and close it as the last one when they shutdown.

You might already know that you can automatically start any application at startup by placing a shortcut to this application in the Startup folder in the Start Menu. This is a great way to save you a click and/or to ensure that you do not forget to start Outlook.

I've been using Outlook.com ever since it was called Hotmail and thus still have my original @hotmail.com address.
