Junk E-mail Filter synching for Outlook.com/EAS accounts

I’m using my Outlook.com account on 2 separate computers both running Outlook 2013.

I noticed that the Blocked and Safe Senders Lists of the Junk E-mail Options for my Outlook.com accounts aren’t synchronized. They used to do this when I was still using Outlook 2010 with the Outlook Hotmail Connector.

How can I sync my Junk E-mail Filter lists now that I’m using an EAS account?

Blocking spam emails with hidden or missing From address

Recently, I’m getting more an more spam in my Inbox with no email address.

The From field only shows a name but no email address. Also, when I hover over the name or right click on it, it doesn’t open a Contact Card with more info.

Right clicking on the message in the message list doesn’t allow me to block it either.

How can I block this new type of spam?

Deleting or finding large Calendar items

Looking at the folder size of my Calendar, I noticed that it takes up a lot of space. This is very well possible since I often store attachments with my Calendar items or receive Meeting invitations with attachments.

Now I'm looking for a way to locate the largest items and clean up their attachments.

Which method would be most effective?

Let Outlook read your emails out loud

At work, they’ve implemented Unified Messaging for Exchange. A really cool thing is that I now can call a number to get access to my mailbox via Outlook Voice Access (OVA) and have my emails read out loud.

As I sometimes don’t feel like reading emails (like long emails or memos), I was wondering;

Can Outlook read my emails out loud as well?

View message in web browser only shows HTML code in Microsoft Edge

Choosing to view a message in a web browser used to open Internet Explorer and display it as a mht-file with all formatting and pictures.

Now when I choose this option, it opens Microsoft Edge but only shows the HTML code of the message and doesn’t actually render the message itself.

With Microsoft (and me) moving away from Internet Explorer, and removing it from Windows 11, how can I properly open the emails in Microsoft Edge or another web browser?

Or is Microsoft going to improve the rendering capabilities in Outlook for HTML emails?

A program is trying to send an email message on your behalf

We’re using an application which can send notification messages to our customers. It does this via Outlook but for each email that we send out we get the warning below:

A program is trying to send an email message on your behalf. If this is unexpected, click Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date.

We then have to wait a few seconds before a progress bar is to 100% before we can click on Allow.

Needless to say, this is very annoying and quite a time suck as it does this for every email.

Is there a way to suppress these security alerts even if it is just for this application?

Deleting Calendars from Outlook.com

I’ve configured my Outlook.com account in Outlook and here I see multiple Calendars like my default Calendar, a Birthday Calendar, a Holidays Calendar and a few more I created.

Now I want to delete the ones I created as I either copied the items to my main Calendar or simply no longer need them. However, when I right click on the Calendar in Outlook, the option to delete the Calendar is greyed out.

How do I delete these Outlook.com Calendars?

Receive emails directly instead of once per hour for Connected Accounts in Outlook.com

I’ve configured a Connected Account in Outlook.com to read and reply to emails from another account that I own. This also allows me to receive them in Outlook without the need to configure an additional account.

A major downside of having a Connected Account is how long it takes for new emails to arrive. It seems that it only checks for new emails once every hour, which basically renders the feature useless to me.

Can I configure how often a Connected Account should check for new emails?

Too many devices when connecting to Outlook.com

I’ve been trying to configure my Hotmail account (which is now Outlook.com) in Outlook 2013 via EAS but I get the following error:

There are too many devices syncing with this account.  To sync using Outlook, try removing another device that is connected with this account such as a phone or another computer.

Followed with:

Line: 97
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
FolderStatus: 177
To re-try press F9...
Error Code: 0x80004005

I’m only using my account on my mobile phone and Outlook 2013 on my laptop and desktop. I can’t find a method to remove any old computers which I might still have.

How can I fix this issue and sync my Hotmail account with Outlook again?
