I really like the Outlook Social Connector and I use it in conjunction with your Social Media Updates Search Folder tip to quickly see what my contacts have been up to lately.
However, I noticed that this info isn't always fully up-to-date.
How often does the Outlook Social Connector check for new updates and is there a way to change this interval or force an update similar to pressing Send/Receive to check for new emails?

We save messages as oft-files so all the people in our team can use them as templates for sending out standardized emails.
However, when opening or saving messages as oft-files, Outlook defaults to the Templates folder within the user’s profiles.
Is there any way to change this default location to for instance a network share?

When I try to start Outlook, I get the following question;
"Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?"
If I click "No", nothing happens. If I click "Yes", I get the error;
"No profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in the Control Panel."
This error is then directly followed by;
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The server is not available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists."
I went to the Mail applet in Control Panel and my mail profile and mail account is configured as it should but still Outlook does not open. I'm the administrator of this computer;
How can I get Outlook to work again?

I do a lot of typing so I try to use the mouse as little as possible as it breaks my flow. I also found that using keyboard shortcuts is often much quicker than using a mouse.
In Outlook, I have multiple accounts configured but I have not yet found out how to switch between the accounts when composing an email.
Is there an easy way to select the sending account via a keyboard shortcut?

I’ve added my Outlook.com mailbox to Outlook 2013 as an Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) account. In the Navigation Pane, the display mailbox of the mailbox is the full email address of my Outlook.com account.
Because my email address is quite long, it gets truncated with “…”. Preferably, I just want it to show my first name since it is my personal account.
Is there any way I can rename or otherwise shorten this mailbox name?

I just upgraded to Outlook as part of Microsoft 365 and I seem to be missing something that I really liked in my previous version of Outlook.
I had this vertical list of “Quick Commands” on the right side of the Reading Pane which allowed me to Delete, Reply to or Move a message and various other things.
This was very useful to me as I have the Ribbon minimized as it takes up too much of my vertical viewing space. I could add them to the Quick Access Toolbar but I’d rather have them on the right, next to the message.
Is there any way to get this vertical bar with Quick Commands back?

I’m using Outlook 2007 and up until recently, I had no issues using that with iCloud. Now I receive the following error;
The set of folders cannot be opened. An unexpected error has occurred. MAPI was unable to load the information service C:\PROGRA~2\COMMON~1\Apple\INTERN~1\APLZOD.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured.
I’ve verified that I’m using the latest version of iCloud and I tried signing out of iCloud and then signing back in, but it still doesn’t work with Outlook.
How do I get iCloud to work with Outlook 2007 again or has support been dropped for it?

I’m trying to sort my Contacts a bit more effectively but I’m a bit at a loss to determine what the best approach is.
There seem to be various options such as creating additional Contacts (sub) folders, creating Contact Groups and using Categories.
Which approach is the best or which one would you recommend?

We all have these moments; You need to focus and don’t want to get distracted by anything for a longer period of time.
Alerts for incoming emails can be quite a distraction and those emails you thought only required a quick and short responds ended up becoming an essay or a back-and-forth conversation or just totally got you out of your rhythm.
Of course, you could close Outlook and all other applications that generate pop-up alerts or sounds, but did you know about Focus Assist already?
