Link instead of attachment?

I've updated a file on our network and I want to send it to my colleague for review. Since we can both access the networkshare I want to send it as a link but Outlook blocks shortcuts (lnk-files).

Do I really have to send the file now instead?

Create a Contact Group for contacts belonging to the same Category

I want to send an email to all the contacts belonging to a certain Category but unfortunately, I can’t seem to sort or filter my Address Book by Category when addressing an email.

To overcome this limitation, I thought about creating a Contact Group for this Category but then I run into the same limitation when adding members to this group.

Is there an easy way to create a Contact Group for a certain Category aside from adding all the contacts of that Category one-by-one?

OWA features broken with latest Chrome update

I’m using Google Chrome as my default browser but after installing the latest update of Chrome, I find several features within Outlook Web App (OWA) to be no longer functioning.

Some of these features are:

  • Attaching files.
  • Inserting pictures.
  • Typed hyperlinks duplicate after hitting spacebar or enter.

Is there any way to fix this?

Mail Merge with a Distribution List as the source

I've got a long Distribution List (or Contact Group as they are called now since Outlook 2010) to which I want to send a message to.

As I don't want to use the BCC field and actually also might want to address the messages personally, I looked at using the Distribution List as the source for my Mail Merge.

Is this even possible?

Meeting request holds no details for receiver

I've sent out a meeting request but some recipients complained that the message was empty. I know that at least one of them is not using Outlook but Mozilla Thunderbird. I use Outlook 2010 myself.

Is there anything I can do to solve this other than sending out regular email messages with the meeting details instead of actual meeting requests?

E-mail Properties for contact addresses in Outlook 2010

Some people did not receive my attachments or received a winmail.dat file instead. I could solve this issue previously by changing the email properties of certain contacts from “Send using Outlook Rich Text Format” to “Let Outlook decide” or “Send Plain Text”.

Where is this option located in Outlook 2010?
