Quickly deduplicate contacts without 3rd party tools

Over the years I’ve created a lot of contacts and due to merging and synching of data during that time, I sadly also have quite some duplicates.

Pst-files vs. pst-archives vs. ost-files

When going over some large files on my computer, I came across quite a few of pst-files and ost-files in various locations.

Some of these files are named after an email address, some are listed multiple times with a (2) or (3) behind it. Others were tagged as an archive.

What are the differences between these pst-files and ost-files?

Setting Reply as the default instead of Reply All in Outlook on the Web (Exchange 2016/2019 and Microsoft 365)

I’m using Outlook on the Web (as part of my company’s Exchange mailbox) and there I noticed that the Reply button is a combined button containing, Reply All, Reply and Forward.

As I need to use the Reply button more often than the Reply All button, and inadvertently using Reply All is kinda “dangerous” in my line of work, I’d like to change that.

How can I set the Reply action as the default instead of Reply All?

Outlook.com stops syncing with Outlook 2013

I've configured my Outlook.com account in Outlook 2013 as an Exchange Active Sync (EAS) account.

In a previous post you mentioned that unlike Outlook Hotmail Connector accounts, which syncs on a schedule, mail for EAS accounts in Outlook 2013 should arrive almost instantly (Direct Push).

This is indeed the case for a while but when I have Outlook open for a longer period of time, my Outlook.com account stops synching with Outlook and I have to press the Send/Receive button to get my new mail or restart Outlook

How can I prevent Outlook from breaking this sync and continue to collect my email directly from the server as it arrives?

Can I find out when I read a message in Outlook?

I know I can request a Read Receipt to find out when someone read a message that I sent. However, I'd like to know when I read a message that someone else has sent to me.

For instance, this would be especially useful to me for informational messages which did not require me to reply but are important enough to know when I’ve actually read it.

Is this information registered somewhere in Outlook or in a log file?

Outlook.com/Hotmail messages take a long time to be received

I’ve configured 2 Exchange accounts and an Outlook.com account in Outlook and on my phone.

When a mail is being sent to me, the e-mails arrive almost instantly on my phone and via web access. The Exchange accounts also directly receive the items in Outlook.

However, for my Outlook.com account, it takes ages before the email finally shows up and I usually press the Send/Receive button to force the emails to come through.

How can I speed this up?
