I've been using Outlook 2007 for quite a while already but today when I started Outlook, I got the following notification;
"Preparing Outlook for first use."

Then it shows a dialog where it appears to be importing by emails which is taking forever.

What exactly is going on here and why does Outlook state that it hasn't been used before?

When I try to set my Junk E-mail filter to "No Automatic Filtering", Outlook will switch it automatically back to Low.

To keep my work and private e-mail completely separate, I've added an additional mail profile to Outlook. I've named this new mail profile after my company. The original mail profile is called Outlook.

Is there any way I could rename this mail profile to something more indicative like "private emails"?

Choosing to view a message in a web browser used to open Internet Explorer and display it as a mht-file with all formatting and pictures.

Now when I choose this option, it opens Microsoft Edge but only shows the HTML code of the message and doesn’t actually render the message itself.

With Microsoft (and me) moving away from Internet Explorer, and removing it from Windows 11, how can I properly open the emails in Microsoft Edge or another web browser?

Or is Microsoft going to improve the rendering capabilities in Outlook for HTML emails?

I regularly take calls and make Appointments for my colleague and want to send these in such a way that he can directly add them to his Calendar.

These aren’t Meetings with me so I don’t want to send him a Meeting Request as then they will also show on my own Calendar. I also don’t have direct writing access to his Calendar as he doesn’t like to be “surprised” with new Appointments suddenly showing up in his Calendar.

Is there any way I can send such Appointments by email without crating a whole lot of extra work for me?

I'm looking for a way to create a Search Folder for "actionable items". To me, actionable items are messages which are either unread or marked for follow up.

When trying to configure a Search Folder for this, it seems I can only create one for items which are both unread AND marked for follow up rather than OR.

Is it possible to create a Search Folder with such OR criteria for the flagged and read status of a message?

While composing a message I've clicked on the Flag icon before sending. After sending it I cannot find it in my For Follow Up folder. The flag also looks different; it doesn't have a colored border.

What is the difference between the flags and why doesn't it show in my For Follow Up Search Folder?

I’ve accidentally permanently deleted an email when using Outlook on the Web (OWA).

When this happens in Outlook, I can select the Folder tab and then choose: Recover Deleted Items. In OWA, there is no such tab and I can’t find the “Recover Deleted Items” button anywhere.

How can I recover deleted items in OWA?
