Deleted Calendar and Contacts folders not showing in the Deleted Items folder

Deleted Calendar and Contacts folders not showing in the Deleted Items folder

I recently deleted some old Calendar and Contact folders which I thought I no longer needed. However, it appears that I do. I haven’t emptied my Deleted Items folder in a while so these folders must still be there.

Sometimes, there is an indication that the Deleted Items folder is containing sub folders but when I click on the triangle to expand the Deleted Items folder, it just disappears and doesn’t show anything.

How can I recover them and why is the triangle disappearing?

Month view doesn’t show all my appointments

Month view doesn’t show all my appointments

I prefer to use the Calendar in the Month view but then it doesn’t display all my appointments for a specific day. Instead, it shows a grey arrow icon on which you have to click to show all the appointments but this takes you to the Day view.

Is there any way to get all the appointments to show in the Month view?

Drag & drop to add attachment no longer works

Drag & drop to add attachment no longer works

I frequently use the drag & drop method to add an attachment to an email directly from Explorer rather than using the Attach File button.

However, as of recently, this method no longer works for me. When I try, the cursor turns into some sort of a forbidden/blocked/unavailable sign.

Is there any way I can reinstate the “drag & drop to attach” feature again?

Uninstall Outlook Microsoft 365 and Office 2013/2016/2019 Click-To-Run Updates

Uninstall Outlook Microsoft 365 and Office 2013/2016/2019 Click-To-Run Updates

I wanted to uninstall an Outlook update but when I follow the instructions to uninstall the updates via Control Panel, I don’t see any Office updates listed there.

I’m using Office 365 Home Premium, which is updated automatically via the cloud and not Windows Update if I’m not mistaken.

Can I also uninstall updates then?

  4. 5 weeks overdue
  5. 7 weeks overdue
  6. 4 weeks overdue

Why is it sorted like this and how can I change the sort order?

Splitting a pst-file into yearly archives

Splitting a pst-file into yearly archives

For years I’ve been using the same pst-file with Outlook and it now has grown quite big (it currently is 5.6GB).

To speed up Outlook and backup performance, I thought about splitting up my pst-file into multiple files. As data will no longer change in these pst-files, I would no longer have to include them in my daily backups.

Is there any way I could split up my pst-file into yearly archives?

Collect external POP3 emails quicker on Outlook.com

Collect external POP3 emails quicker on Outlook.com

I’ve configured Outlook.com to collect emails from another account of mine via POP3.

While this works without issues, it really takes a long time before new emails of this POP3 account actually become available in Outlook.com.

Is there a way to configure how often Outlook.com checks for new emails for configured POP3 accounts, force a manual send/receive or anything else to increase the speed to receive new emails?

Separate rules for Exchange and POP3 accounts

Separate rules for Exchange and POP3 accounts

In Outlook, I’ve added an Exchange, POP3 and IMAP account and configured some rules to automatically sort my mail.

While the rules for IMAP account are managed separately, I noticed that the rules for the Exchange and POP3 are combined and therefor apply to both accounts.

This creates some interference with the processing of the rules and Exchange rejecting them.

Is there a way to separate the management of these rules just as for the IMAP account?
