Mail Merge with a Distribution List as the source

Mail Merge with a Distribution List as the source

I've got a long Distribution List (or Contact Group as they are called now since Outlook 2010) to which I want to send a message to.

As I don't want to use the BCC field and actually also might want to address the messages personally, I looked at using the Distribution List as the source for my Mail Merge.

Is this even possible?

Quite a few of my contacts in Outlook are not just business contacts but I also have a personal connection to them.

Therefore, I'd like to be able to add the names of their spouse and children to their contact records. If possible, I'd also like to be able to enter their birthdays.

People Pane adds GUID references to IE History

People Pane adds GUID references to IE History

Since I'm using Outlook 2010, I see a lot of GUID references in my Internet Explorer History which makes it hard to use.

For instance;
{6BE240C7-DFC2-4366-8871-08A412F896EB}

When I click on it, I get one of the following;

  • a warning which reads;
    "Running a system command on this item might be unsafe"
  • a file not found error
  • a web page with the text;
    "There are no items to show in this view."

Where exactly is this coming from and how can I make it stop poluting my IE History?

Process your mail quicker with keyboard shortcuts

Process your mail quicker with keyboard shortcuts

While message rules can help to automatically file the bulk of your messages directly into the correct folder, processing your mail is of course more than just moving it.

Instead of using your mouse, you can move, flag, categorize, etc your mail via a keyboard shortcut which is often quicker (and more accurate when for instance in a train).

Which ones are you using?

In my Out of Office settings I've created a rule to forward my mail to another e-mail address whenever I enable the OOF.
