I have a very large mailbox and luckily my Exchange Online mailbox has a limit of 100GB so I have more than enough storage left for my mailbox.
However, the Outlook ost-file is apparently a lot more limited as I’m getting synching errors and my ost-file is “only” around 50GB in size.
I find it odd that they support 100GB mailboxes on Exchange while the recommended maximum ost-file size for Outlook is still 50GB.
How can I increase the limit for ost-files and make Outlook support larger mailboxes?

Over the years, I've created many archive files (I used to archive by month and then later by year as space became less of an issue).
I still use them as a reference sometimes and I'd like to combine them into one big archive as it is easier to manage and simplifies searching as well.
How can I merge them together?

Both last week’s Quick Tips involved references to hotfixes which raised the following question for some;
What exactly are hotfixes and how are they different from other updates which I get offered via Windows Update?

I just noticed that I could drag & drop files (doc, docx, xls, pdf, png, etc...) directly into Outlook folders. Basically this would allow me to use Outlook as a single storage location for as long as I have space in my mailbox, instead of saving these files separately in Explorer.
Are there any downsides to this method and is this actually even supported by Microsoft?

I have a POP3 account configured on my main computer and on my laptop. I noticed that it does not keep track of my read/unread status and other things such as Sent Items and other folder that I have. It also does not support bringing over the contacts and appointments.
How can I easily sync these changes?

I’ve just switched to a new computer and configured Outlook with my POP3 account which automatically created the Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, etc… folders listed under my POP3 email address.
I’ve been able to reconnect to my pst-files (outlook.pst and archive.pst) via:
File-> Open-> Open Outlook Data File
This successfully imported my Personal Folders, but listed them in a separate section below the email titled section rather than merged them.
I then tried running the Import and Export Wizard, but it displays a window showing:
"The Outlook data file (.pst) is already in use in the current profile".
How can I merge my pst-files restored from my backup with the newly created folders under my email address?

I’ve configured Outlook 2013 with an IMAP account but my Sent Items aren’t being saved to the mail server. Instead, they are being saved to a Sent Items folder which has “(This computer only)” behind it.
I’ve tried to set the Sent Items folder in the account settings for my IMAP account but there is no “Sent Items” or a “Deleted Items” tab as there was in Outlook 2010.
How do I configure Outlook 2013 to save my Sent Items on the mail server?

I'm running out of disk space on my main drive and noticed that my ost-file was really big. I know how to move pst-files, but that method does not seem to apply to ost-files.
How can I move my ost-file to another location?

I’ve accidentally deleted a message which I liked to keep and since I have Outlook set to empty delete the Deleted Items folder upon closing Outlook, I can’t restore it from there anymore either.
I do make frequent backups of my pst-file, however, I do not want to lose any of my new emails which I’ve received or sent since creating that backup.
Is there any way to recover just that single message or the folder containing the message from my backup?

I have a laptop with a touch screen (actually, it is a Surface tablet) and also an iPad. When I use OWA on my iPad, it is optimized for touch input. For instance, some buttons are larger and there is an options bar at the bottom.
However, on my Surface, it always loads the mouse optimized version. This is true even when I detach the keyboard and use the Internet Explorer Modern App instead of the Desktop version.
Is there any way to get my Surface to load the touch optimized version of OWA as well?
