Issues opening Excel attachments
When I double click on an Excel attachment, Excel opens but it doesn't open the spreadsheet or I get an error. Other attachments open just fine.
How can I fix this?

I have multiple email accounts configured in Outlook. By default, Outlook seems to name them after my email address which is quite long.
For all accounts, the first part is just my name and only the domain part is different (one from Outlook.com, one from Gmail and one from my company’s domain).
Can I shorten this to for instance “Outlook.com” or “Gmail” or even make them a bit more descriptive like “personal” and “business”?
I’m not always in the office but I’m quite consistent with enabling the Automatic Replies feature while I’m away.
Would it be possible to forward my emails to somebody else only when I have Automatic Replies enabled?
If so, can I also forward emails to my private address when the message was sent with high priority or from a specific colleague?
I regularly receive messages which are “on behalf of” messages. When I try to create a rule for these messages, Outlook only seems to look at the first address and not at the “on behalf of” address.
However, this “on behalf of” address is usually more interesting to me as that is the actual responsible person for the content and not “only the messenger”.
Is there any way to make Outlook’s sorting rules to look at the second address when a message is sent “on behalf of”?
Outlook 2003 and previous showed a bell icon on appointments that had a reminder set to it. This bell icon was (sadly) removed in Outlook 2007. I was happy to hear that the bell icon is back again in Outlook 2010 and later
Now I just upgraded to Outlook 2016 and I still don't have the bell icon for my appointments that have reminders set to it.
Is the bell icon really back and if so; How can I make it visible?
Usually, when I add an attachment, it shows up in the “Attached” line directly under the “Subject” line.
However, sometimes it is being added between the text of the e-mail message instead.
Is there any way to toggle the location when the attachments show up?
I sometimes receive a message without a subject or with lots of unneeded text (like a big signature or a long list of previous addresses). I'd like to keep the rest of the message, and just strip that content or add a subject.

Internally, we all use Outlook and we send each other invites for meetings as well, which works great.
However, when external people are invited as well, they sometimes complain that they can’t open the ics-attachment. Apparently, they are not using a mail client with Calendar support.
Is there any way to quickly send out the meeting details in an email as text without having to type it all manually?
When doing a Mail Merge in Word, I can see all my Outlook contacts. In most cases, I can apply some filters to easily select the contacts I need but I can't seem to be able to filter based on Categories that I have assigned the contacts to.
Is there any way to do this?
When I open a message in Outlook Web Access (OWA) via a double click or create a new message, this message is opened in a separate window.
This basically "detaches" it from the current browser window and makes it hard to find back when I switch between applications.
Can I open it in a new tab instead so that I can group all my OWA activity together?
