Other than my own mailbox, I’ve also got access to some additional shared mailboxes within our company.
We are using Exchange and I have been granted access to these mailboxes but when I create a message rule, to for instance move specific emails to another folder, it only seems to apply to messages that are address to me and not to the shared mailbox.
How can I set up a rule for a shared mailbox?

We have a Department Meeting each first Friday of the month. To prepare, we schedule a Team Meeting each Monday before this Friday.
I tried to get these as appointments into Outlook. Creating a recurring appointment for the first Friday of the month is not that hard but I'm struggling to set this up for the Monday meetings.
How do I create a recurring meeting scheduled 4 days before another recurring meeting?

I prefer to use the Calendar in the Month view but then it doesn’t display all my appointments for a specific day. Instead, it shows a grey arrow icon on which you have to click to show all the appointments but this takes you to the Day view.
Is there any way to get all the appointments to show in the Month view?

In Outlook 2010 on Windows 7, I was able to alter the “New Mail Desktop Alert” duration to up to 30 seconds in Outlook or perpetual via your mentioned Registry key modification.
Now that I’m using Outlook 2013 on Windows 8, the new mail alerts are only visible for 5 seconds and I can’t find an option to change that in Outlook 2013 nor does the Registry hack do anything.
Is there a way to get these mail alerts to show for longer than 5 seconds for Outlook 2013 on Windows 8?

With the holidays going on, and the fact that you only receive the Automatic Replies (Out of Office) notices once, I’d like to keep track of who is away when.
As most people tend to write their substitute or an emergency number in the Automatic Reply message as well, I thought storing them into a separate folder (or having them stand out more so I don’t forget to move them) would be a good approach. I can then simply search within that folder
How would I move or color code these Automatic Replies without risking to also move or color code other messages?

I’m subscribed to various newsletters and I regularly receive a popup box when trying to open a newsletter that says “Contacting Server for Information” or simply “Contacting:” with a reference to a URL.
It seems to happen more frequently since Pinterest got more popular as the URL is also indicating that it is contacting http://assets.pinterest.com
While it is doing this, I cannot do anything in Outlook for 15-30 seconds or even a minute!
What is this and how can I make it stop?

To have an overview of each other’s activities and availability, we were thinking about implementing a Team Calendar.

I'm looking for a way to create a Search Folder for "actionable items". To me, actionable items are messages which are either unread or marked for follow up.
When trying to configure a Search Folder for this, it seems I can only create one for items which are both unread AND marked for follow up rather than OR.
Is it possible to create a Search Folder with such OR criteria for the flagged and read status of a message?

I’m not really sure what happened, but this morning, one of my pst-files was missing and for another I got the error;
Errors have been detected in the file <path to pst-file>.
When trying to scan it with the Inbox Repair Tool (scanpst.exe), I got the error;
The file <path to pst-file> is not an Outlook data file (.pst).
When trying to start Outlook now, I get the error;
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened.
What should I do now to start Outlook and to get my data back?

I have my Calendar configured in the Week view. At the end of the week, it really makes little sense to me to mainly see my meetings and appointments of the past few days. I'd much rather see today's planning and the ones from the upcoming days or next week.
Is it possible to always show today first when I switch to my Calendar folder?
