Reminder bell for appointments in Calendar missing

Outlook 2003 and previous showed a bell icon on appointments that had a reminder set to it. This bell icon was (sadly) removed in Outlook 2007. I was happy to hear that the bell icon is back again in Outlook 2010 and later

Now I just upgraded to Outlook 2016 and I still don't have the bell icon for my appointments that have reminders set to it.

Is the bell icon really back and if so; How can I make it visible?

Hidden emails in a shared mailbox

When sharing a mailbox, some of the users accessing this mailbox do not see all messages while others do.

Some other folders even show that there are unread items in them, even though everything has been marked as read or when the folder is empty.

How can I make these "hidden" messages available to everyone?

The To-Do List in the Tasks section shows the difference via an icon.
Can I make this icon visible in the To-Do Bar as well?

For some of your tips I need to start Outlook as an Administrator.

Within Vista this was easy by right clicking the Outlook icon on the Taskbar and choosing “Run as Administrator”. In Windows 7 this right click menu is gone because of the new Taskbar.

Show more calendar months in the Date Navigator

There is a little monthly calendar in Outlook’s To-Do Bar and also within the Calendar Navigation itself where you can click on a date and then it will open up your calendar at this date.

This is very useful to me but when nearing the end of the month, it is becoming less useful as less future dates become visible.

Is there any way that I can set it to show more months?

Do not automatically mark as read

When quickly going through my emails, often I haven't actually really read the emails but Outlook already marks them as read. This is quite confusing unless I mark them as unread again which takes more time and defeats the purpose of quickly going through my emails.

The same is true when I access a mailbox from somebody else; I might have read it but the mailbox owner hasn't yet so the mails shouldn't be marked as read either.

How can I set Outlook so that it will not mark these emails as read when I go through them?
